"James & Ami's Master Bath" - Creating a master bath that meet the needs of both husband and wife is always a challenge. For this master bath, James and Ami wanted a modern yet warm design, that enhanced the feeling of openness and space. the line between master bedroom and master bathroom is blurred with the lack of hard separation in the way of a door. Framed in columns, the entry to the bath only suggest a transition between rooms.
Once inside, you'll immediately notice the featured tub, an area that Ami wanted as a retreat to relax and wash away the stresses of parenthood and life. Fixtures selected for the entire room were designed to look clean and functional, with a twist on modern traditional. His and hers vanities provide each with functional and organized spaces of their own, repeating elements chosen to add warmth and comfort. Items such as the framed mirror, lighting and fixtures all were selected by designer and client. An open shower was chosen as a method of maintaining the openness of the bathroom, using only glass block to divide the room.
The result is a warm, open bathroom, with wonderful lighting and ideal use of space. Both James and Amy can feel at home in this room, blending all of their functional needs with a strong desire for unique design.
